David Lynch frequently carries over similar symbols from film to film, which enables us to better understand otherwise complex cinematic concepts more easily by triangulating every time that symbol is used. In other words, the surreal language of Lynch's films becomes clearer as you watch more of them. As the variations on these themes progress from film to film, the use of the symbol tends to become more abstract. With this video we will take a look at one of the most important motifs of David Lynch's films: The Ring Symbol.
